Hi
I am Vishaarad from Fiji and would like to nominate myself for the above
mentioned position. I am fairly new to IG and was awarded one of the top
four students of the first edition of APIGA. Apart from this I have no
formal qualification or education in IG. I have also been a fellow for the
APrIGF in 2017. My personal IG interest include End User empowerment of
those who do not have a formal IG background. Other IG related areas I am
interested in is Social Media for Emergency Management. I have keen
interest in the Asian region and have spend time in India under the Know
India Programme & Indonesia under Indonesian Art & Culture Scholarship. I
am currently developing my interest in South Asian and Southeast Asian
culture and linguistic diversity and the internet.

Hello,
I'm resending this email as there were a few technical problems yesterday
that my previous email didn't go through as I used an email not subscribed
to the list and ended up forwarding the email.
I'd like to nominate myself as chairperson of Youth4IG's fellowship. I've
been involved in the IG space/community for about 6 years now and have
experienced fellowships myself and been to some of the major IG conferences
and events. My efforts in paving the way for more youth representation has
been recognized by the MAG itself and other publications.
I think that my experience would definitely be helpful in leading the
fellowship program of Youth4IG. That said, I'm also open to serving as a
co-chair instead (and if needed) as I originally mentioned if anyone would
like to take the chairperson position other than myself.
For more information about myself, you can refer to the following links:

Hi Team,
I'm writing this email with reference to your call for a *Chair for the
Mentorship Project*. I'd like to nominate myself -* Afifa Abbas*.
I have been a regular attendee as a fellow, speaker and cybersecurity
workshop facilitator of several meetings like APNIC, ICANN, IETF, AprIGF,
SANOG, APRICOT.
I served as a mentor for fellows of APNIC42 and a coach for ICANN64 fellows
from China, Yemen and Nepal. Also within my organization in an internal
project (banglalink ennovators) I served as a mentor of two youth groups.
Considering my experience of being a mentor I believe I will be able to add
value as a chair of mentorship project.

Hello all,
I know a lot of action is on in the background, but here's a short
summary of the July call held last week.
1. *ICANN Marrakech sharing: *Thank you Ihita for the sharing from ICANN
Marrakech. The Next Gen programme discussed the .amazon issues and some
more pertaining to the local African community. (will share the call
recording once I have it for more details). Also those, who wish to know
more about the Next Gen @ICANN Programme we have a bunch of alumni so feel
free to reach out to them (Ihitia, Aisyah, Elliot, Ananya to name a few).
The next one will Asia will be in June 2020 in Malaysia.
2. *Mentorship WG: *A lot of good inputs on the Mentorship project. The
working document has been opened to the full list so let me know if you
still cant access it (just request access and I shall add you). Please
share as many opinions about how to build this Mentorship model. It will be
a sustainable, on going project and not a one time event. Also, good to
have one a volunteer who will like to *Chair the Mentorship Project.*
If you would like to nominate yourself or someone you think is capable, *email
alumni(a)fellows.asia <alumni(a)fellows.asia> with your name. *
The Chair will be responsible for:
- Managing the mentorship google doc
- Giving timely updates at Youth4IG calls and other forums when needed
- Report discrepancies and become the one point contact to lead this project
This is a great chance to practice some leadership skills if you wish to
grow in the IG space.
3. *APrIGF 2019 Russia: *The on site participants will conduct a session
with NetMission at yIGF. Mili and Jianne will present Youth4IG on Day 0.
Informal interaction with other fellows at Social on Day 0.
A big thanks to Kenn for moderating the call so effectively. If anyone is
interested in moderating the August call, email me. (Again good practice
ground and I am always there to help, plus we are a friendly community so
no judgement and ample scope for error). Shed your public speaking fears!
Thank you Pablo and APNIC for Zoom support.
*Next call: August 3, 2019 UTC 6 AM*
