Dear Leonid It was pointed out to the Board that the result of an election should be final, especially when it has an election committee and third party scrutineers as we do. To later ask members, some of whom may not have participated in the vote, to ratify the result puts the election at risk if they want to contest the result. I have no idea when or why the practice was introduced but our legal advice is that it is not necessary. The Election Committee will announce the results when they are received and they will be final. But thank you for the query Regards Maureen
