Dear Friends and Colleagues,

A list of recommendations on increasing diversity and enhancing participation in GNSO and the wider ICANN as discussed at the recent APAC Space web conference can be found here: https://community.icann.org/display/GSEAPAC/Notes+on+21+April+2016+-+APAC+Space+Discussion+on+APAC+Participation+in+GNSO. As discussed at the APAC Space web conference on 21 April 2016, you may wish to build on this list of recommendations in other discussions and/or turn them into a document to be raised to the GNSO Council.

As the ICANN56 Helsinki meeting (27-30 June 2016) will only take meeting requests from SO/ACs, it is likely we may not be able to hold a face-to-face APAC Space meeting in Helsinki. In this regard, we suggest that the next APAC Space web conference should take place as a pre-ICANN56 Helsinki meeting on Thursday, 16 June 2016 at 03:00 UTC / 11:00 SGT

Following the practice of discussing one topic at each APAC Space web conference session, we are grateful for any suggestions on a discussion topic for the next APAC Space web conference. Some discussion topics for the upcoming APAC Space web conference that were requested were:
Of note, “Improvement of New generic Top Level Domains (gTLD) process" is related to an active GNSO project on “New gTLD Subsequent Procedures Policy Development Process (PDP) ” (read more here: http://gnso.icann.org/en/group-activities/active/new-gtld-subsequent-procedures). The Working Group (WG) for New gTLD Subsequent Procedures have begun meeting to determine whether changes or adjustments to the existing policy recommendations on the Introduction of New gTLDs are needed. Do let us know if this topic is of interest to you for the next APAC Space web conference, or if you would like to suggest an alternate topic.

Thank you.

Warm Regards,
Joyce Chen
