Plenary on Emerging Issues (17:30-18:30)
- IoT, mobility and digital fabrication and related governance issues - Izumi Aizu (10 minutes)- IoT and its unique implications on online privacy, security and personal data protection – Noelle de Guzman, ISOC (10minutes)- Electronic identity management and related governance issues – Hong Xue, Beijing Normal University (10 minutes)- Regulation for the “sharing economy” - Uber, AirBnB etc <Kuo-Wei to suggest speaker> (10 minutes)- Women's rights issues in relation to the internet - Bishakaa Datta (10 minutes)
Dear Chat, Kuo-Wei,I’ve included your comments and additions and reflected them in the email below. Kuo Wei, thanks – if the lawyer can also mention in broader terms the regulatory challenges that Peng Hwa suggested, then I think that will be fine.I've adjusted the timings slightly so that there’s still a (small) chance for Q&As. I think that’s all we can take for the roud-up session/panel.Thanks all!Regards,KelvinFrom: Kuo-Wei Wu <kuoweiwu@gmail.com>

Trying to catch up with the work.I would say that a significant issue everyone is wrestling with these days and one that could use the multistakeholder model is the issue of regulations for the “sharing economy”. I’m thinking in particular of services such as Uber, Airbnb. The only real answer to this is to incorporate government, business and civil society. Any one stakeholder would not yield a good result.Perhaps the legal counsel of one of these companies could be at the session to speak.For your consideration.Regards,Ang Peng HwaFrom: Apilp_planning <apilp_planning-bounces@jerry.dot.asia> on behalf of Hong Xue <hongxueipr@gmail.com>

We’re also asking the APrIGF Fellows to attend these sessions.On the session, I think we have some convergence of views on the final session (17:30-18:30):
- Round-up(-ish), forward looking themes;
- Diverse and bold perspectives on emerging issues that will impact people in critical ways;
- Governance issues tied to emerging topics/technologies
Can we have some nomination of speakers/self nomination that can complement the following:- IoT, mobility and digital fabrication and related governance issues - by Izumi Aizu (10 minutes)- Others?I note that Noelle/ISOC has just been added to this group – Noelle, any related themes topics that ISOC can contribute and speak to?Regards,KelvinFrom: Hong Xue <hongxueipr@gmail.com>

I like the idea of a round up for this session with a few speakers who
can give diverse and bold perspectives on emerging issues that will
impact people in critical ways. I agree that forward looking themes will
be most useful for this session rather than specific technologies.
Can we define the focus now and allow for more time to think about the
possible themes and speakers? Alternatively, we can keep the topic broad
so we have more flexibility in shaping the session - ie. once the rest
of the day's agenda is more detailed and we have a better idea of who
will be participating.
