Fwd: FW: [DNSSEC-OC] 21 February DNSSEC Summit - the panel
Dear all, Sorry for my late reply since there is some technical problem I couldn't receive emails from the list. Please note that the coffee break is 10:30am-11:00am (and 3:30pm-4:00pm) and the lunch break is 12:30pm-2:00pm. Thank you very much and Happy New Year. ACTION to Yannis: Please tell us when the morning coffee break is actually schedules on Monday. With that information we can finalize the overall time schedule. We have 2 1/2 hours. I'm modifying my previous proposal to the following:
We really need this question answered. Is Yannis on this mailing list? Can we get an answer the question?
ACTION to Edmon: This is a .ASIA event so someone from .ASIA should open this event, presumably you. Will it be you or do you want to arrange for someone else?
It would be me.
Great, thanks.
ACTION to Edmon: As moderator I could summarize and close but it would also be good for .ASIA to close. How do you handle this?
Maybe have ISOC HK close. That would be Charles Mok. Also, we would like to invite a government official to have opening remarks as well.
Good suggestion. I know Charles although you may have better access to him. I'll make sure to leave a 10 minute slot for a Government official. I'm assuming you'll take care of this invitation.
That leaves us with panelists.
My starting list is:
.ASIA needs to be represented - will this be you Edmon? .ORG should be represented - Lance Wolak
I bumped into Lance here at Domainfest and he said perhaps he will not be able to be in HK (Lance, you should be on this list as well?...)
Lance, if you can't make it can someone else from PIR be present? PIR/ORG is a leader in DNSSEC deployment. It would be unfortunate if you couldn't be represented.
Suzanne Woolf - from ISC she represents Bind, a root server operator, she's a member of SSAC and RSAC, she's RSAC liaison to the ICANN Board, she's active in the IETF
What I would like to do at this point is identify DNSSEC folks from the region. This includes:
Japan
I can help with inviting someone from JPRS.
I know the folks at JPRS, too.
Malaysia India
Please suggest.
I don't know these folks off hand but I know I can figure it out. If you agree they are a good choice I'll take care of this.
Also, Thailand?... I think they signed their zone as well?
I don't recall that they are signed but I'll check. If they are then yes, they should be invited.
I would also like to suggest we include one or two of the .ASIA Friends and Family participants.
That would be Afilias :-D
ACTION to everyone: Is this a reasonable set of panelists?
ACTION to Edmon: I'll need some suggestions from you for regional panelists.
I can ask APCERT as well. Beyond that am not sure who else... wonder if APNIC is relevant...
I don't show APCERT has having a signed domain. Unless they have announced plans to do so I don't think they are appropriate for the panel. Same for APNIC. This panel is about evangelizing actual DNSSEC experience. Do you know if they have a relevant story to tell?
Thanks,
Jim
