I would say that a significant issue everyone is wrestling with these days and one that could use the multistakeholder model is the issue of regulations for the “sharing economy”. I’m thinking in particular of services such as Uber, Airbnb. The only real answer to this is to incorporate government, business and civil society. Any one stakeholder would not yield a good result. Some related logistic considerations (for local host):
- If the APrIGF 2016 website and registration page could have some information about the Day 0 APILP program, while the planning team continues to firm up the program, that will be great. Sorry if I’ve missed them.
- At MSG, there was a brief discussion on the room capacity. I think it was a good sized room of about 80pax for Day 0. However, as some pointed out, if we have 60 yIGF participants (not sure I heard this one correctly), and with the 20+ fellows, there will be more than 80 participants, at least at certain times? In that case, we may need to have a bigger size room, since there would be other participants/newcomers to the APILP that is not yIGF or fellows too (including some of us here whom I’m sure would like to be in the room) :) How possible is that?
