After some correspondence with the David and Yannis, yIGF organizers, we would like to suggest that we reserve the first 15 minutes for a Welcome address targetted at the the newcomers, APrIGF fellows, as well as for introductions to yIGF/APILP. This will be the first time many of the attendees have participated in the programs.
In addition, I’d like to propose adding the following topic on “Human Rights and the Internet” for the 16:00-17:30 civil society session. Thanks Chat and Jac / APC for proposing the topic for this and agreeing to lead the session (description below). Sounds like a good introductory session for the newcomers.
Human Rights and the Internet: Overview of how the human rights framework has been applied in internet governance and policy development. This includes the history of human rights from WSIS to IGF, and the interlinkages between policy processes such as Human Rights Council, ITU and UN Commission on the Status of Women in the articulation of the right to freedom of expression, violence against women, right to be forgotten and privacy on the internet.

If no one objects, I think we can include the course descriptions in the 3 workshop proposals in the agenda, since these are more firm, and provide more detail. The write up also includes the blurb on APILP.
And if you could avoid references to the fact that we proposed to spread it over 3 days, that will be much appreciated.

Some related logistic considerations (for local host):
- If the APrIGF 2016 website and registration page could have some information about the Day 0 APILP program, while the planning team continues to firm up the program, that will be great. Sorry if I’ve missed them.
- At MSG, there was a brief discussion on the room capacity. I think it was a good sized room of about 80pax for Day 0. However, as some pointed out, if we have 60 yIGF participants (not sure I heard this one correctly), and with the 20+ fellows, there will be more than 80 participants, at least at certain times? In that case, we may need to have a bigger size room, since there would be other participants/newcomers to the APILP that is not yIGF or fellows too (including some of us here whom I’m sure would like to be in the room) :) How possible is that?

Glad to see this and to know that the issue of Civil Society presence is agreed.
This programme is a great start but before setting anything in stone, I would suggest to bring the right people into this discussion. After all it is not just an issue of civil society “content” but also “participation” in this process.
I suggest Chat Garcia, who is already active on the MSG, would be the right person to invite into this group in the short term. The future particuipation in the mailing list can continue to emerge as well of course.
Are you all OK to invite Chat at this stage?
One other comment:
This agenda is very packed and I feel that the allocation of 2 90-minutes slots to the technical community is not quite fair. Perhaps if we spent 60 minutes on IANA transiti9on and then 60 on my presentation, then this would free up time for others.
If Hong is happy to be identified as “Academic” then perhaps she should join in with the technical community, with her session scheduled before the afternoon coffee break. Then, we could leave the final session (16.00-17.30) for the Civil Society issues.
It would look something like this:

Peng Hwa and I discussed about the program following the MSG meeting last week and we¹ve come up with the attached program - glad that we¹ve reached a similar conclusion that we can beef up the civil society part!
