Dear DotAsia Members, Here are important announcements pertaining to the 2025 DotAsia Board Elections: 1. Nomination Period Begins This is a reminder that the Nomination Period for the DotAsia Board Elections 2025 has started today, December 27, 2024 and will end on January 16, 2025 (Thu) 23:59 UTC. As outlined in the Board Elections Procedures (BEP) document ( https://www.dot.asia/board-elections-2025/) please feel free to use the templates at the very end of this message to submit your nominations and seconds to elections(a)board.dot.asia. According to section 2.1 of the BEP, members that have confirmed their organization’s voter name and voter email address before the commencement of the Nomination Period will be eligible to nominate, second or vote. Those that did not validate their voting information will not receive a nomination form or ballot. The Election Compliance Administrator (Board Secretariat - Election Team) will report to the Election Committee and will be communicating to members using elections(a)board.dot.asia. 3. Dear DotAsia members The Board met for the last time in 2024 earlier this month, progressing a range of issues and selecting members of the election-related committees I shared with you last week. Since nominations for the elections open soon, it is the right time to urge you to consider standing for the Board and add your contribution to the DotAsia story. I am delighted with the progress of DotAsia in the past eighteen months or so. Among many other achievements, I highlight: - Setting a clear strategic direction for the company and sharing that publicly - Growing the number of .ASIA domains, and through this lifting the company’s income and underlying profit - Making our governance structure stronger and less open to capture - The team’s ongoing contribution to internet governance work around the region and around the world The Board is a great group of people focused on supporting and celebrating DotAsia’s success, shaping its future direction and challenging & inspiring the staff team. I do encourage interested members to put themselves forward for election to the Board. There is more to do in making DotAsia stronger. Fresh perspectives and positive energy from new Board members will be important. I’ve been very pleased to be able to serve our DotAsia community in this role, but in 2025 other matters have to take my focus. I can’t give enough time and attention to this work next year to remain on the Board, and that means I won’t seek your support for a second term. If you have any questions about joining the Board or our work, I’m very happy to speak with you. After a full report to members next February at our AGM, I’ll look forward to being simply a part of our DotAsia member community again. Dear DotAsia Members This note shares important information about the Election and Nomination Committees for this year’s Board Election. Election Committee On behalf of the DotAsia Board I would like to renew our thanks to all who participated in, and provided feedback on, the development of this year’s DotAsia Board Elections Procedures (BEP). The BEP and Final Notice of DotAsia Board Elections is in line with DotAsia's policies and rules and can be found at https://www.dot.asia/board-elections-2025/. I am pleased to announce the appointment of the members of the 2025 DotAsia Board Election Committee: Election Chair: *Ellen STRICKLAND* Election Committee Co-Sponsor Members community representative: to monitor election for seat(s) returned from the Sponsor Member category: *Cheryl LANGDON-ORR* Election Committee Sponsor Members community representative: to monitor election for seat(s) returned from the Co-Sponsor Member category: *Andrew MOLIVURAE* The term of the Election Committee is from December 13, 2024 to February 23, 2025 (or the completion of the Board Elections 2025 including any by-elections required). The Election Committee will oversee the election process, declare the election results and resolve procedural disputes if any. The term of the Nomination Committee is from December 13, 2024 to February 23, 2025 (or the completion of the Board Elections 2025 including any by-elections required). The NomCom has the power to determine the eligibility of each Nominee in a Board election, and to exclude a Nominee from a Board election due to their ineligibility.
