Dear DotAsia Member, The nomination period for DotAsia Board Elections 2025 ended on January 16, 2025. In accordance with the Board Election Procedures <https://www.dot.asia/policies/BGC004-BoardElectionsProcedures-v2-1-20241211…> BEP <https://www.dot.asia/policies/BGC004-BoardElectionsProcedures-v1-5-20221221…>, section 2.6. Dispute Resolution; a 96 hours dispute resolution period, ending January 20, 2025, 23:59 UTC has now elapsed and I am writing to you to announce that the completion of nomination period results can be found at https://2025.nominations.board.dot.asia/ and for your convenience are included in the table below. Nomination Results The Nominations Committee has determined, based on the information available to it as at January 17, 2025, that all the Nominees meet the eligibility criteria to be nominated for the DotAsia Board Election 2025. Maureen HILYARD and Jose A. LAY are therefore deemed elected as they are the only candidates in the Sponsor Member category. CO-SPONSOR CATEGORY Since the number of candidates standing for the election in the Co-Sponsor Member category is equal to the number of vacancies in that category (i.e. we have 1 candidate and 1 seat), no voting is required. Nomination Period Begins This is a reminder that the Nomination Period for the DotAsia Board Elections 2025 has started today, December 27, 2024 and will end on January 16, 2025 (Thu) 23:59 UTC. As outlined in the Board Elections Procedures (BEP) document ( https://www.dot.asia/board-elections-2025/) please feel free to use the templates at the very end of this message to submit your nominations and seconds to elections(a)board.dot.asia. According to section 2.1 of the BEP, members that have confirmed their organization’s voter name and voter email address before the commencement of the Nomination Period will be eligible to nominate, second or vote. Those that did not validate their voting information will not receive a nomination form or ballot. Dear DotAsia members The Board met for the last time in 2024 earlier this month, progressing a range of issues and selecting members of the election-related committees I shared with you last week. Since nominations for the elections open soon, it is the right time to urge you to consider standing for the Board and add your contribution to the DotAsia story. I am delighted with the progress of DotAsia in the past eighteen months or so. Among many other achievements, I highlight: - Setting a clear strategic direction for the company and sharing that publicly - Growing the number of .ASIA domains, and through this lifting the company’s income and underlying profit - Making our governance structure stronger and less open to capture - The team’s ongoing contribution to internet governance work around the region and around the world The Board is a great group of people focused on supporting and celebrating DotAsia’s success, shaping its future direction and challenging & inspiring the staff team. I do encourage interested members to put themselves forward for election to the Board. There is more to do in making DotAsia stronger. Fresh perspectives and positive energy from new Board members will be important. I’ve been very pleased to be able to serve our DotAsia community in this role, but in 2025 other matters have to take my focus. I can’t give enough time and attention to this work next year to remain on the Board, and that means I won’t seek your support for a second term. If you have any questions about joining the Board or our work, I’m very happy to speak with you. After a full report to members next February at our AGM, I’ll look forward to being simply a part of our DotAsia member community again. Election Committee On behalf of the DotAsia Board I would like to renew our thanks to all who participated in, and provided feedback on, the development of this year’s DotAsia Board Elections Procedures (BEP). Dear DotAsia Members, The voting period of the DotAsia Board Elections 2024 ended on May 8, 2024, 23:59 UTC. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SPONSOR MEMBER CATEGORY ELECTION RESULTS ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ There were 2 vacancies in the Sponsor Member category. There were a total of 22 eligible voters and each voter can select up to 2 candidates. A total of 26 votes were received from 15 voters and all counted as valid.
